The Governor’s Valedictorian Reception (also known as Valedictorian Day) is an annual
event hosted by Governor Brian Kemp and the First Lady to honor the top high school
graduates from across the state of Georgia. The ceremony celebrates the academic excellence
and leadership of valedictorians, offering them and their families an opportunity to network
with state leaders and representatives from Georgia’s colleges and universities. On Saturday,
June 6, 2026, Stewart County High School’s Valedictorian, Zaindelle Brown, along with her
mom, Ms. Cecilia Green, attended this year’s event at the Georgia State Convocation Center
and Georgia State University.
The reception includes speeches from state officials, photo opportunities with university
mascots, and celebrations of the students’ achievements. The event allowed Zaindelle to
connect with admissions counselors and presidents from universities across the state and she
was reminded of state programs like the HOPE Scholarship and the Zell Miller Scholarship,
which reward high-achieving Georgia residents with significant tuition assistance.
Congratulations Zaindelle Brown!
